It's Star Wars Day!
What are you guys doing to celebrate? I'm going to play some Dark Forces. Maybe watch some movies starring the new cast, and obviously some star wars movies.

Gareth Edwards, director of Godzilla and Monsters, is officially the director of the first Star Wars spin-off solo film. It will be written by Gary Whitta, screenwriter of Book of Eli and videogame writer for the Walking Dead Season 1 and 2.
Interesting choice. I don't know how great a director Gareth is but he looks like he's leaving Godzilla for this hahaha.
The movie is rumored to be about Boba Fett.

Another Star Wars spinoff director has been announced.
It's Josh Trank, director of Chronicle and the upcoming Fantastic Four film.
All these fucking youngling directors.

Rian Johnson (Looper, Breaking Bad, Brick) will write and direct Star Wars: Episode 8.
Fuck yeah Johnson and Abrams this series is in the right hands.

Looper wasn't that great, it had some good scenes but overall wasn't that good. Brothers Bloom was good. Brick was great. But fuck it, the real reason I'm excited is because it's the guy who directed these scenes doing a Star Wars movie:

Talked to Charles and we decided that the only choice for Episode 9 now is Neil Marshall, so that way the sequel trilogy can be made by the makers of Lost, Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones. Marshall might end up directing Magic: The Gathering instead though. I want him to direct both.

December 2016 - First Star Wars Spin-off (Probably Boba Fett) Written by Gary Whitta Directed by Gareth Edwards

So I read that the reason JJ Abrams is only directing Episode 7 is that he may end up making the live action Star Wars series they talked about years ago.
Supposedly George Lucas has a 5 year 100 episode plan for the series with the first seasons' scripts already written. JJ Abrams and his team would do rewrites and make the series for Netflix. For those that don't remember the show would take place in between Episodes 3 and 4. However they may have to do some rewrites so that it wouldn't interfere with some of the planned spinoffs.

Haha yes
Damon Lindleoff and Kevin Smith, both huge Star Wars fans, were both offered to contribute to the script of Episode 7. They decided to write only one scene together.
I bet it's the flashback scene.
