MI1 - Brian De Palma
MI2 - John Woo
MI3 - JJ Abrams
MI Ghost Protocol - Brad Bird
MI Rogue Nation - Christopher McQuarrie

If you think about it though Tom Cruise has worked with most of the best directors in the business.
Francis Ford Coppola, Tony Scott, Ridley Scott, Martin Scorcese, Steven Spielberg, JJ Abrams, John Woo, Paul Thomas Anderson, Cameron Crowe, Brian De Palma, Ben Stiller, Neil Jordan, Michael Mann, Bryan Singer, Joseph Kosinski, Edward Zwick, Robert Redford, Oliver Stone, Brad Bird, Chris McQuarrie, Barry Levinson, Ron Howard and Stanley Kubrick.
I think he's one of the few actors who picks directors he wants to work with, rather than just the movie. I can totally respect that.

I also love the movies Magnolia, Eyes Wide Shut, Collateral, Last Samurai and the first Mission Impossible.
But Rain Man is my favorite and I will fight people who hate the movie in real life.
Top Gun is okay.

Trying to pick a Tom Cruise movie from one of my streaming services. Want to watch the first Mission Impossible on Netflix but I can't find my chromecast and David Lynch says you can't watch a movie on a fucking telephone. Here are my other options on Hulu and HBO:
