I think it will come down to EXACTLY how the enemies are fought, but to me it looks like this game has solved the biggest problem people have with Final Fantasy games (the turn-based combat system and the rigidness of it) and made it essentially an openworld RPG with a Final Fantasy story.

Looks like square enix is putting a lot of emphasis on this at e3, so this might actually be coming out this year.
