Who else is watching this tonight? I mostly just care about the Best Actor race this year because it's such a tight race and I feel like whoever wins, it's going to have a huge impact going forward.
If McConaughey wins, he could be the first actor to win the oscar and the emmy in the same year. If Leo wins, he'll have finally won an oscar after being nominated 8 times. If Chiwetel wins, he'd be only the second black actor to win the Academy Award for best actor. And it will most likely be one of those three. Which is cool because I like all three of them.
Pretty sure, as far as the rest of the Oscars go, that 12 years is winning best picture and best director, and that Sandra Bullock is winning best actress.

Of the best picture candidates this year, the rest of you guys saw zero of these movies in theatres. Charles and I saw three in theatres.
I just stopped suggesting movies because of Ben and Phil because everything I suggest is instantly "shit" and Cheesy doesn't see a movie any more if Ben and Phil don't go.

Her and DBC are my favs, I saw Gravity, 12 years and WOWS in theatres

I don't think Her is going to win anything but it truly is one of the best sci-fi films in recent years
One of the problems is it was billed as a romance and not as a sci-fi which is weird, I think that's why not many people saw it

I think the only movie to make me cry this year from the stuff nominated was Dallas Buyers Club, I almost cried during 12 years but I guess I'm too racist or something

i got two of these movies at family video, I didn't get the half off and then I immediately regretted it because I thought of all the games coming out this month

My thoughts on the oscars this year:
BEST WIN: Matty Mac winning Best Actor. Awesome speech although I didn't know he was so religious. Cool shot of Christian Bale smiling and looking on in approval. I was upset they didn't cut to a disappointed Leo though. You had one job camera guy. Anyway the Emmy is next motherfuckers.
BIGGEST BULLSHIT: Act of Killing getting shut out of the best documentary race by some stupid fucking backup singer movie. Stay gay Hollywood.
STUPIDEST PART: All the twitter bullshit we get it you think you are trendy
BIGGEST SURPRISE: One movie didn't dominate, the awards seemed to be spread out with Gravity winning all the technical stuff (as it should have). I was happy to see 12 Years win best picture and Her win best screenplay.
WHAT THE FUCK MOMENT: Here's all these awesome actors who died, now here comes fat Bette Midler to sing some random bullshit.
Over all one of the better years for actual awards and one of the worst years for the actual presentation.
