Really surprised we don't have a thread on this show yet.
Is there a show that is more universally watched by dudes our age than South Park? Seems like everyone's answer to everything is "did you see the South Park episode on that"?
South Park is honestly a really great show and the only animated series to maintain its quality over a really long period of time on air. HOWEVER, I got some problems with South Park and I'm gonna air them now.
The only quality episodes of South Park are the ones that either A) deal with a relevant issue in contemporary society or B)develop or focus on the main characters in some way. Since the show has been on for so long, there hasn't been a good B episode in a while. So you just have to look forward to the A ones.
The episodes that suck the most are the ones that are just blank parodies of some movies.
Also the problem with the A episodes, as I'm going to refer to them, is that they are way too preachy. We get it South Park, everyone knows you dudes have skewed Canadian Libertarian views on everything. We understand. But yet they always try to shove that shit down your throat.
I don't know its weird because like I said its the only real consistent in quality animated comedy that's long running. It certainly beats the shit out of Family Guy or current day Simpsons.
But I'd rather watch a live action comedy like It's Always Sunny than South Park. And early season Simpsons is still the GOAT.
