Nolan. Matty Mac. Explosions in the Sky. And big budgets sci-fi.
Fuck yeah I'm pumped for this. Who else thinks this is going to be the best blockbuster of the year next to maybe Godzilla?

I feel like this is the gravity of 2014
IE, a really great movie made for theatre watching that nobody watches in theatres because A) it is an original idea and B)the cast/crew is off-putting to people that don't watch enough movies.

In addition to the IMAX version of this, Sundance is showing this in 35 MM (which for those that don't know theatre lingo, that's like oldschool film - how theatres used to project film). The 35MM showings start two days early and the IMAX showings start one day early.
Either one sounds awesome to me. I saw the Master two years ago in 75MM at Sundance and that was one of the nicest looking movies I've seen, I prefer that way more than any 3D or Imax 3D movie I've seen. The problem with 75/60/35MM is it's like listening to music on vinyl, it's the most hipster thing ever. I'll have to think more about this, especially if it's only me and Charles going I might go to the 35MM at Sundance, but the IMAX urge is strong especially since I saw the Dark Knight and Inception in Imax.
In terms of viewing film, with my experience I rank it like this:
IMAX (really great picture and sound quality) 75MM (best picture quality there is, ok sound quality) IMAX 3D (experimental fad bullshit but still fun) Regular film projection (RIP) Modern Digital film projection 3D/Regular 3D (tiring after 30 minutes)

Man this movie looks so fake. So many plotholes. There' just no way that the whole earth could run out of food, that's like the most unbelievable plot of all time. Also there's no way that this is based in real science whatsoever!
wait no it's gonna be awesome and you're a faggot

wait it doesn't matter if it sucks or not its a new nolan movie there will be at least some stuff that is awesome. This is guaranteed with every Chris Nolan movie, even if the thing sucks as a whole (Dark Knight Rises) there is still stuff in it that is awesome.
mah IMAX tickets are preordered. Friday here we come.

LOVED IT but knew I was going to. Lots of twists. Great actors. Actual smart scifi movie. Total Nolan film. I've got the poster hanging on the door to my room. Favorite parts without giving too much away: -The opening scene with documentary footage setting up food shortage future--FUCKING GOD LEVEL SHIT BASED NOLAN -Time-skip planet -Matty Mac vs. Matt Damon space suit battle -all the TARS and Case robot stuff -Michael Caine's poem -When they go through the wormhole the first time -Orbiting Saturn -Inception Space Station "Cooper Space Station" at the end
