Looks like it will star Michael B. Jordan, Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman. Will Smith may not return.

So with the casting of Michael B. Jordan in the lead and confirming the return of Goldblum and Pullman, this movie is now guaranteed to be awesome.

they need randy quaid to come back, and then they need to not explain how he's still alive

so will smith is confirmed to not be in--he turned the script down, which considering the other scripts he's turned down, probably means it's genius (see: The Matrix, Django Unchained, Hotel Rwanda)
Jordan is probably out cause he's in everything else nowadays. Probably for the better as I don't think he'd fit Independence Day.
Goldbulm however confirmed recently that he's in, and Pullman is probably coming back too.
